The DPL Atelier

membership Terms and conditions

Our core ethos for Digital Pattern Library is to show you a way of doing business which empowers you and those around you. We practice what we preach and part of that involves setting out clearly from the outset the way in which we will deliver our services to you. If you are planning to join The DPL Atelier (“the Membership”) then you must read these terms and conditions in full prior to purchasing.

Membership Terms: Key Details

The terms cannot be varied and in proceeding to purchase the Membership you will be deemed to have accepted these terms. The terms and conditions set out below apply to the services offered by Digital Pattern Library by Xandra Jane. Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under law and set out the terms under which Digital Pattern Library (“we”, “our” or “us”) provide services to you, as purchaser of the membership. These terms are subject to any rights you have under consumer law to which we are bound and which cannot be waived by contract.

Membership Outline

The DPL Atelier is a membership platform for those who want to learn how to create 2D sketches and transform them into 3D garments, making their own clothes with confidence across the entire fashion process. The membership is an ongoing commitment where you can get regular support and guidance.

The aim is to provide support and guidance across the entire fashion process which creatives need to help them to make their own clothes with confidence. The information is not tailored to any one person but includes information which has been used across a range of different garment styles and textiles. It is also focussed and designed for those who are interested in entering the fashion industry. Whilst it may be useful for those who have considerable experience at the sewing machine, the membership is best suited to those who consider themselves beginners in either or all: fashion design, pattern drafting or garment construction and would like to explore beginner, intermediate and advanced techniques of creating a self-made wardrobe.

Membership Specifics

There are five elements to the membership:

i)                   Signature Create, Cut, Construct® framework

ii)                  Video tutorials

iii)                 Monthly Creative Co-Working sessions

iv)                 Access to existing and future digital products, as and when they’re released. Including but not limited to PDF Sewing Patterns and Fashion File Packs

v)                  A private Facebook group

Signature Framework

Over a 3 month cycle we will design, pattern draft and sew one particular garment style as a collective. You do not need to follow or take part in the framework to benefit from the learning resources available in the membership. The workshops will be led by Alexandra. From time to time they may also be joined by expert coaches and consultants who are specialists in different areas of fashion and the creative arts.

The weekly tutorials will be sent out via email and notifications published in the private Facebook Group. The fourth week of each month will be open to Q&A’s where questions submitted throughout the month will be answered. During each monthly cycle, you will get the chance to have your questions answered, learn from valuable workshops and create alongside Alexandra in real-time schedules.

The information and guidance shared will be based on Alexandra’s formal education (BA Hons) Fashion, industry experience of many years and ownership of multiple fashion businesses.

Monthly Creative Coworking

Our monthly creative coworking sessions take place via Zoom (or another similar video conferencing platform) for approximately 90 minutes. Unless there are unforeseen circumstances, the video calls will take place the last Saturday of every month 9.30am UK time and we will notify you of the times in the Facebook Group and weekly email.

Question & Answer Sessions

The fourth week of each month will be open to Q&A’s where questions submitted throughout the month will be answered. During each monthly cycle, you will get the chance to have your questions answered, learn from valuable workshops and create alongside Alexandra in real-time schedules.

You will get the chance to ask questions about your fashion projects and get tailored bespoke support. All of the Q&As will be delivered in The DPL Atelier Facebook group and where appropriate, content will also be uploaded to the membership website. You will be asked to complete a form prior to this session enabling Alexandra to prepare supportive material and demonstrations where appropriate.

If you do not submit your question by the stated deadline, your question will be answered the following month. This will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your own circumstances and get support.

You can ask any question at any time related to the fashion process and do not have to be following the framework schedule in order to benefit from this feature.

Self-Study

In addition to the video tutorials and Q&As there will be materials provided for self-study. You will find these within the membership portal under the Create, Cut, Construct framework and accompanying modules. In here you will find both written and video tutorials with updates added each month. For best results you should work through the workbooks and audio or video material in your own time. Failure to complete the self-study materials may limit your ability to learn from the tips and guidance shared in the workshops.

Private Facebook Group

You will have access to a private Facebook to support you during the Membership. The intention of the Facebook group is to provide community support and a network of individuals at a similar stage of fashion design and who are facing similar challenges.

From time to time, Alexandra may post and offer support in the Facebook Group but there is no guarantee that posts will be responded to immediately or that any Facebook mailboxes will be monitored.

Please be advised that whilst we hope that you will be able to utilise the Facebook group, we make no guarantees as to the availability of the group and/or the content within the group at any time.
